if you open a differential backup then previous full together with that differential is combined and shown in explorer.
If you open an incremental backup than a chain of previous full and incrementals is combined and shown.

Take a look at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToSnapshot
This is the key used by Aomei.
You can edit this and add C:\hiberfil.sys

So you made a Clone not a Backup. A Clone is a copy and of course if you take a look in Explorer the letters are different. You can only have one C one D one E etc. You cannot use the Restore option, that is for Backups. You can however copy files i…

I don't know everything... Just tested File backup and File Sync. Excluded files (probably folders too) are not in the backup. Don't know whether Aomei respects FilesNotToBackup, probably not.

I always use VSS (Recommended) in Settings.
Examples for file and folder:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToSnapshot

Diskpart has to be used within another OS, because you can't clean a HDD with a running OS.
1. You could take the HDD out and make it external to another computer or 2. you start the Aomei CD/DVD and go to utilities->Command prompt (somethin… -
Did you restore on a Clean HDD? That is a complete empty one wth no traces of previous installations?
You can Clean the HDD with Windows Diskpart and convert the HDD to GPT.
I assume that the backup was made on the same UEFI HDD as i… -
It 's a security issue in Microsofts Explorer if you try to browse the backup made on another computer.
Other software, even Microsofts, works just fine, sometimes Administrator rights are needed. -
The organization of the partition table in the MBR limits the maximum addressable storage space of a disk to 2 in How to unclone a hard drive Comment by JohnnyboyGo August 2019

That's why I said to use the Clean command of Windows Diskpart. That is the best way to go back to the original empty state of the drive. Then convert to GPT, partition and format. Google on how to issue the commands.

Do you want to keep the clone or is it OK to clean the entire drive. You can make a backup then. You can Clean the disk with Windows Diskpart. And convert it to GPT (I Guess). Google. Then format again.

Don't know why Win7-64 would be different, but I just tried to restore a Win10-32 backup to use in a Virtual Box environment. And that works.1. Make an empty VHD big enough in Windows Disk Management. (actions on the right side. I su…Yes, download Q-dir file explorer and run it as administrator. Access denied only happens in Windows Explorer.Did you Clean the new HDD with Windows Diskpart before you did the restore? And is Windows 98 supported by AOMEI? I doubt it.So what's the problem? All problems must be Windows Explorer related, not Aomei's. If you cannot read the personal documents use another explorer like Q-dir.exe.It will work. You could make a disk backup on an external device and then restore to the new SSD or you could clone the old disk to the SSD. Then put in the SSD and boot. But if the old disk is starting to die as you wrote, there may be unaccessibl…How do you restore a directory? In Windows Explorer or any other file commander, not?Just like in the old versions you can detach a mounted image. In previous versions you had to go to the Utilities menu and then Explore image. Now you have to goto to the Tools menu (upper right side) and then Explore image. Click on the drive lette…
List of files that won't be backed up are listed here in the registry of Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToSnapshot
Aomei respects those entries. So that is a possible way to ex…
Dell Latitude E6410 seems originally to be a Win7 laptop, so indeed as Flyer suggests an MBR machine."System" means the partition where Windows is located. So if your C: is 349 GB then a System clone or migration wil also be 349 GB, at least (there are some hidden partitions as well) .You could copy pictures and music and video files to an ex…You can add the ISO of Aomei WinPE to the boot menu with EasyBCD. Put the ISO preferably on a separate partition. Are you sure you added the correct E drive to the boot menu with EasyBCD?Do it again. And use the last added. When booted from E, open Windows explorer. Which drive has the OS flag in the disk icon? It should be E, but the desktop may…Three possible problems. I Guess B. is the main problem:A. 2 active disks if C and E are on different disks). In the latter case make the old HDD inactive with Diskpart since you better don't have…C: is also a partition.
In my opinion It's always a good idea to clean the disk with diskpart before the system of disk restore.
Then convert (in diskpart) to GPT if necessary. Clean removes all partitions so the disk looks like a new empt…
