Following the UI of Windows 11, Microsoft applications will also receive visual updates one after another, the first of which is the Office suite that we use most frequently in our daily work life.
On December 2, the new Office UI interface began rolling out to all users, covering Office 365 and Office 2021, with support for Windows 10 and Windows 11. In fact, the interface was announced earlier this year, with the first tests starting in the summer and now officially released.
Overall, the new UI is mainly designed to accommodate Windows 11, the main changes are Ribbon menu with rounded edges, support for customization options, as well as adjustments to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other suites of buttons, the adaptation of light and dark theme colors, etc.
The new Office UI is expected to take effect automatically after users reboot, or you can switch between the old and new UI by clicking the little speaker button in the upper right corner. The updated UI hides the quick access toolbar by default to simplify the main interface. To show it again, click on the arrow in the ribbon and select Show Quick Access Toolbar in the drop-down menu.
The UI is currently available in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. The tools Access, Project, Publisher, and Visio are currently only available with the old UI.
