Microsoft Defender, which comes with Windows 10 and Windows 11, received a perfect score in the October evaluation by German authority AV-TEST and was named one of the best anti-virus software for 2021.

AV-TEST, an independent IT security organization, tested and ranked 21 security programs including Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, Avira, McAfee, and Avast in terms of Protection, Performance, and Usability.
In the test, each security software can get up to 6 points in each rating item, and Windows Defender on Windows 10 received full marks in all categories, with a total of 18 points.
According to the AV-TEST test, Defender blocks 100% of the zero-day exploits, malware, malicious URLs and virus emails that have actually appeared on the Internet in the past month, making it one of the top security solutions for Windows 10. While other security solutions from vendors such as McAfee and Avast also received perfect scores, Windows Defender was the only free antivirus solution among them. Another rare achievement is that Defender uses the least amount of computer resources when checking and killing, which means that no matter how high or low your configuration is, the antivirus software works with the least impact on scenarios such as normal Internet surfing.
