Files Skipped in AOMEI Backupper

Introduction:

In some cases, the program may pop up a window to inform you the files or folders are being used by another program when you run file backup/sync. You can select either “Cancel”, “Retry”, “Skip” or “Restart Mode Backup”. The interactive window is waiting for a response for three minutes during the file backup/sync. If it does not get a response, the program will automatically skip these files or folders to process the backup operation.

Case 1: Some files and folders may be used or accessed by other programs exclusively.

(If the program does not get a response within the required time, the program will automatically skip these files or folders to process the backup operation.)

Solutions:

1. You can click “Cancel” to cancel the backup operation.

2. Or, you can click “Restart Mode Backup” so the backup operation will be executed automatically under the WinPE mode.

3. You can also choose “Retry” to retry the backup operation. The window may still prompt when you retry the operation.

4. And, you can choose “Skip” to skip these files and folders so these listed files and folders will not be backed up.

5. Also, you can create a bootable media and run backup under the WinPE mode.

Case 2: Some files and folders don’t have system permissions.

Solution: Please make sure you have sufficient permissions to these files and folders. You can check and change the system permissions under the properties of these files/folders.

Case 3: The source path is too long.

Solution: Please check if the source path is greater than 256 bytes. If yes, please change a shorter path. Please note that the program counts the path bytes which include the bytes of the source path you backup/sync and the destination path.
