Counting from the Windows 1.0 system in 1985, the Notepad program has been born for nearly 40 years.

In the Win10 era, Microsoft has made a major update to Notepad. The changes include reminders of unsaved models, support for Ctrl + scroll wheel to quickly adjust the text display ratio, embedded Bing search, and allow multiple notepad windows to be created.

After investigation, Microsoft recently pushed a new notebook for Insider members of the Windows 11 Dev channel, which is another major refactoring.

The first is that the icon LOGO is completely changed, and the page-turning feel of the previous version has been completely replaced by flat paper overlaps.

Nearly 40 years after its birth, Microsoft has refactored the Win11 Notepad program: the function/interface has been renewed.

The second is to support the dark mode, which can be automatically matched and replaced according to the system theme.

The third is a brand-new search and replace function, and supports multi-level undo.

The fourth is the new independent setting button in the upper right corner. After clicking it, the configuration of the software theme and font will be replaced.

The fifth is that the window uses rounded corners to adapt to Win11, and the "Mica" effect of the menu bar, which is translucent vision.

Of course, Microsoft admits that because it is still in the development and preview stage, there will be some bugs, such as unexpected problems when switching between different input methods and selecting text with Shift.

In addition, Microsoft revealed that the next optimization focus is to improve the performance of opening very large files.
