Microsoft has now added support for muting and unmuting Microsoft Teams calls from the taskbar, a feature sure to be part of an upcoming OS update.

The following is the specific update content:

  • Microsoft fixed an issue that occurred when Windows Server 2016 was running as a terminal server using some cloud virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). So the server randomly stops responding after running for a while. This also fixes a regression that actively checks to make sure the CSharedLock in rpcss.exe is set correctly to avoid deadlocks.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue that could cause non-admin users to appear blank in the time zone list in Settings.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue affecting the Windows Search service that occurred when querying with approximate operators.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue that prevented the Startup Impact value from being displayed in the Task Manager.

  • Microsoft has introduced support for Windows Hello for Business Cloud Trust. This is a new deployment model for hybrid deployments of Windows Hello for Business. It supports internal single sign-on (SSO) for Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) security keys using the same technology and deployment steps. Cloud Trust simplifies the Windows Hello for Business deployment experience by eliminating the public key infrastructure (PKI) requirements for deploying Windows.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue that prevented users from uninstalling and reloading the driver when the driver was protected by Hypervisor-protected Code Integrity (HVCI).
  • Microsoft has fixed an issue affecting the Silent BitLocker enable policy that could inadvertently add a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) protector.

  • Microsoft opens Microsoft Office files in the browser in the Recommended section of the Start menu. This can happen if the device does not have the proper Microsoft Office license and the files are stored in Microsoft OneDrive or Microsoft SharePoint. If there is a license, the file will open in the desktop application.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue that caused a remote desktop session's keyboard and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client to mismatch when logging in.
  • When you connect other monitors to your device, Microsoft adds the clock and date to the other monitors' taskbar.
  • Microsoft adds weather content to the left side of the taskbar if the taskbar is aligned in the center. The Widgets panel appears on the left side of the screen when you hover over the weather, and disappears when you stop hovering over the area.

  • Microsoft fixed an issue where an incorrect tooltip would appear in an empty area of the taskbar after you hover over other icons such as battery, volume, or Wi-Fi.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue that occurred when you tried to write a Service Principal Name (SPN) alias (like www/FOO) while HOST/FOO already existed on another object. If RIGHT_DS_WRITE_PROPERTY is on the collision object's SPN property, you'll get an "Access Denied" error.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue where offline files on network drives would disconnect after you restart the OS and log in. This problem occurs if Distributed File System (DFS) paths are mapped to network drives.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue where the authentication dialog was displayed twice when you mounted a network drive.
  • Microsoft has added support for hot adding and removing non-volatile memory (NVMe) namespaces.
