Unable to work when booting from Bootable DVD

Hi,

Yesterday I tried to restore an image and after booting suucesfully from my Backupper bootable DVD, I found out there was NO cursor from the Mouse and neither was I able to use the keyboard,  so I had to re-boot again using instead a Mouse connected to the PS/2 PORT instead of using the USB Mouse and fortunately that did the trick!

Is there a way to boot from the DVD media and be able to use a USB Mouse?
