Simple request

I am new to backups but know that I need them.  Backupper has great reviews and I have been trying it for a while and like what I see.  I don't need anything complex - just a reliable way to backup my system to an external drive such that I can recreate what I have if my hard disk should die an unceremonious death.  I assume that I will need a boot disk that can recreate my system from the external drive. I would like to make incremental backups every night, with an option to periodically do a full backup over the old one, and begin a new set of incremental backups.  My system is about 700GB with a 2TB external drive that I can dedicate to these backup files.  My question: can anyone suggest a simple way to configure AOMEI to do this?
