Am I using the right Sync for my storage files ???

I'm backing up my server hard drive files to another hard drive. the target drive files are always changing depending on what i have to do. so cloning isn't an option. i like to sync the drives once a month and have more than one.  
I'm using Mirror sync right now. but if i change/replace the files, and sync again, it will error with "Target path does not exist". 
i was using  basic sync before, but it kept making doubles of the files and wouldn't delete the old file. even tho i had the deletion box checked. kept reading on the net this was a issue. so decided to try mirror sync. i would like to figure this out being i paid for a lifetime license. so help me out if you can.

Thank you Tim, I understand you want to sync, but it is not working. I am not experienced in the BU Sync modes, and you could try real-time sync instead. Here is an article about BU Real Time Sync. Could you please reply with a screenshot of this error, and of Partition Assistant, thank you.

Please email the support team and offer your log folder to check the issue further.
