If I delete emails from server will they be be deleted from backup?

So I am literally just starting the trial today so forgive me.
I have been looking for a solution to an issue I have with my hosting company.
I have a limit on my email accounts and find I am constantly having to delete emails to keep it below their threshold.
I figured this software may help.
I want to be able to back up my emails from the server and then be able to delete from sever but keep a backup for reference in month or years to come.
So the question is, does this software work in that way or does it mirror exactly what i do on the server i.e does it delete from back up if i delete from server?

Thank you Cookie for this question. I understand you would like to backup your emails. Could you please reply with which product and tier of Aomei you are using? They actually have a lot of products and tiers.

What Server type are you on?

Have you considered instead of backing up your emails, you could export them in an .EML file type or other types, and then later restore them?

I wasn't aware there were different products.
I haven't bought/paid for anything yet. As I mentioned I am just on the trial.
How would I know what the version the trial is?

@Cookiedude, Are you using Outlook? AOMEI Backupper can support Outlook Backup, which back up emails from Outlook client. Or, you can use Email Backup to back up emails from online Email Server.
When you delete emails from the the client or server, it doesn't delete from the backup.
