AOMEI Partition Assistant doubling the EFI partition size ?

Why is AOMEI Partition Assistant doubling the EFI partition size from 100 MB  to 200 MB when cloning "C" SSD SATA drive to an external SSD SATA  drive ?

  • @BSPC, Did you perform disk clone from a small disk to a big one? Did you select "Fit partition to entire disk"? Please take a screenshot of Partition Assistant so that we check the layout of your disks.

    Hi,

Thank you for picking up my Topic , here are some additional details

→ Source drive : Samsung SSD SATA 250 gb
→ Target drive : Samsung SSD SATA 500 gb
→ Did you select "Fit partition to entire disk"? → YES

Is this a problem if i install the 500 gb SSD on my PC , I assume this is not a bug ?

  • @BSPC, when you select "Fit partition to entire disk", it will resize the cloned partitions so that is used all space of the target disk. If you want to clone with 1:1, please select "Clone without resizing partition".
  • Hello,

    Thanks again for your clarification.
I was concerned about eventual boot issues because of the resizing from the EFI partition ?

  • I normally use 300mb for the esp partition.
