Aomei restore image has been running for 23 hours and only 49% done

Is there some way to speed things up? At least for next time? It has been running since 1pm 2/22/24 and still analyzing volume. It has only analyzed 82% of files which is insane. I am restoring a system image around 650gb onto Dell PowerEdge R730. The usb drive is a 1tb hard drive with transfer rates of up to 5gbs but the back up transfers between 4 to 26mbs.

Welcome Techwho, thank you for this speed question.
"transfer rates of up to 5gbs"
USB 3.x 1x1 speed is officially 5Gb/s, but there are no actual USB drives that perform at that speed, it is not even a theoretical speed, USB 3.x 1x1 is not desgined to go 5Gb/s. Learn more with the link below.
Secondly, any USB speed is only is a maximum speed of transfer, the transfer rate depends heavily on the USB disk chip you are connecting it with. Some USB 3.x disks are cheap and slow, others are expensive and very fast.
Fake USB drives are common, I have met 2 people that had them. Fake USB drives can cause errors and data l Please use ValiDrive to detect them.
Are you trying to do the restore from inside of Windows BU-app? Or did you boot from BU USB WinPE?
    Please reply with more info:

  • @Techwhoneedssupport, Have you completed the restore? Based on the situation, you might need to chkdsk /r to check the source partitions, and then do the backup.
