Bitlocker and disk clone

Hi everyone, last week one of our customer's notebooks stopped working after just two days. We open the fault to Dell and before sending it we do the usual clone to save the data. To our amazement we realize that the system is protected with Bitlocker, so much so that by connecting the disk to other machines we do not access the Users folder. However, we clone the disk from another PC with AOMEI Backupper (without errors). Yesterday I prepared a new HP notebook for him, I connect the cloned disk and I can see all the data, why? From disk management I see that the partition is still protected with Bitlocker. Could it be that AOMEI Backupper has somehow "removed" the protection?

  • @Rollopack, If you have used the password to un-encrypt the drive, then do the clone via AOMEI Backupper. The cloned disk has no Bitlocker. Did you clone a system disk? Maybe you can do the clone under WinPE bootable media. So, the cloned disk will keep bitlocker.
