AOMEI Partition Assistant taking too long For 1GB

Good morning,

So I downloaded AOMEI Partition Assistant and used it to resize (shrink) the partition [from 894.14GB to 893.14GB].

It rebooted in PreOS mode and did its job, but the problem is that it takes a while to finish. It has been at 97 pct for almost an 2h. the status increases slowly.

Is there a way to abort without damage or data loss?

Or is the best option to wait until the end?

Aomei support recommends choosing WinPE mode, instead of the older PreOS mode, if the app asks you.
PA is good software with a lot of features that I have used for many years, however, I recommend never using PreOS mode, because it can result in errors or very long times.
You can also create a PA WinPE USB for free, and use that as many times as you like.
For shrinking partitions, you don't need PA, Windows comes with 2 disk shrinking tools for about 20 years. Please use Disk Management, or if you are advanced, use Diskpart.
Before doing any deep operation for any software, please always backup just your essential files to a small USB stick, in the event of a failure or problem, and also print your Bitlocker recovery code onto paper.

Good question, there is no such thing as perfect software, there is always a small risk of data loss when you turn the PC on and do anything.

    Partition Assistant WinPE USB:
Add custom drivers, such as NVMe, if necessary.

    Aomei WinPE Builder USB:
Best for PCs from or before 2019, includes Partition Assistant, Backupper, Recuva, 7zip, OSF Mount, CPU-Z, Bootice, DiskMgmt.msc. Supports x64 portable apps. Does not support any additional drivers, such as some internal NVMe disks.

    Backupper WinPE USB:
Add custom drivers, such as NVMe, if necessary. Does not work with some monitors.
