Partition Assistant Installation error

I "thought" I installed Partition Assistant, but this was the response

I also got this confirmation

I thought perhaps the installer downloaded from this website, must have been corrupted, so i downloaded it once more, started the install process, and was asked this

I did, but in the end, it just produced the same "you need to install Aomei" message

I then went elsewhere to download it.  No help.

  • In theory yes, that should be working, however I must point out, you are definitely performing a non-standard installation path, E:/My Documents\. Instead, please uninstall it, reboot, then reinstall using the standard C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) location, where Windows lives, then please reply back if this error is still there.
  • @Ororite, Please refer to the link to uninstall AOMEI Partition Assistant. And then, please try to install it again.

If you don't mind, I'm curious about a few things.

Why does the app offer an option to select your desired installation path, if it is not possible? Is there somewhere, on or near the download page, that informs the user of this pertinent fact? I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what "I was doing wrong" before coming here.

Frankly, I always wanted a portable version, but as you know, there is none.  So now, I have to install the partition manager, and then create the portable? I don't get it.  Just more unnecessary inconvenience for the user.

Please consider offering a portable option.

BTW, what is this?  Had a hard time editing my post

    thanks

  • EDIT:  It just occurred to me that a portable is not available in the free version?
  • @Ororite, Only Unlimited and Tech edition can support creating portable version.
As for your situation, it failed to uninstall AOMEI Partition Assistant due to unknown reason, so it always pop up the same information. You need to manually remove AOMEI Partition Assistant, and then reintall it.
You can install AOMEI Partition Assistant on other partitions. Please try again.
  • Ok, thanks. I didn't know it before.

You could create a WinToGo USB, PA Pro works on that, but not BU Pro, only BU free. You could Use Hirens WinPE USB for PA, not BU.
    Free tools not from Aomei:
Hirens Boot PE - live USB tool suite
160 utilities, old BU 6.5.1, PA 9.2.1. To add custom drivers, such as NVMe, simply put them into the “CustomDrivers” folder. Hirens is not recommended in combination with Ventoy USB.

    Hasleo WinToUSB - Personal WindowsToGo
