Backup fails after Windows 11 upgrade, unable to create new backup task as well

the specified volume 0 (c:) doesn't exist or has been changed. The operation has been claiming complete until I checked the details and saw the attached. (In place upgrade to windows 11) If I try to setup a new system backup, it also says "The program did not find the system partition. Please reboot the system and try again." 
I have rebooted a few times, the C:\ drive exists in disk management along with the oblig EFI and reserved partitions as usual. THe disk is not dynamic for some weird reason. Not sure what else is the issue here.

  • I removed the installation and installed the latest which fixed the issue. Not really a fix, but I'll take the band-aid.
