Lifetime Upgrades?

Can someone explain to me what "Lifetime Upgrades" actually means with AOMEI Backupper Professional / Workstation in terms of updates and new versions for some of your products? Anyone have actual experience with a "lifetime" purchase? Do you truly only pay once for the product, and continue to benefit from new product upgrades each time they are released years down the line?

I've read what AOMEI says in their lifetime upgrade policy, but I'm not really convinced if it's lifetime?

    @Dustyn, When you purchase the lifetime upgrade service, yes, you can free upgrade to the latest version once we release a new version.

    So, to be clear... this free upgrade cycle is never ending?

    Lifetime is a scam.

    If you get new hardware the key no longer works, i lost my 3 months old Backupper Pro key today because i got a new NVME drive.

    That's not true.
    Yes Aomei deactivate the license due changes on the Hardware but you can reactivate them
    at any Time when you contact the support.

    I have the same problem when i changed the CPU yesterday.
    So contact the support and you can use your old key again.

     But what aiomei can really do better is either reduce the number of changes that lead to a deactivation or
    give the user the possibility to deactivate them beforehand.
    That would certainly relieve the support a lot and the nerves of the user.
    Other software does exactly that too.
