All data lost after converting ssd to gpt

I converted my ssd from mbr to gpt and all my data was gone after. I already tried the partition recovery wizard but it didnt find any partitions. $40 wasted for nothing. Lost 1.5 tb of data including unreplacable files.

  • @Aren02, Did you convert a system disk? or data disk? What status is your disk after conversion? And, the disk is normal access before conversion?
Could you give us a detailed description?
  • It's very unfortunate that you have lost irreplaceable files. Before carrying out ANY operation on a computer's  HD or SSD it's always a prudent move to back up the files on it to another HD. This can be a cheap portable HD connected via USB. I know this is no help to you at this point however, and I do sympathise.

Yes I agree with Chrisj and the Admin 100%. Before you do any major system operation, even a disk backup, I highly recommend manually backing up just your essentially files to the cloud, or a USB stick.

If Partition Assistant is unable to recover your partitions, please try using Hirens Boot PE > Recuva, and perform deep scan. If that free tool does not work, please buy a lifetime license data recovery software, for example Stellar Data Recovery. I do not recommend the annual subscription licenses, they will charge you too much.

Please include screenshots of your disk, even if there are no partitions. Please answer the Admin's questions if this was a system disk with WIndows, or a data disk. What were all of the original partition file format types?

Aomei WinPE Builder 2.0 USB, is a great free tool that includes: Partition Assistant, Backupper, Recuva, OSF Mount, CPU-Z, BootIce. Unfortunately, it does not work with internal NVMe drives, even if you add the driver manually.
