Partition Assistant Standard - extending partition failed
Hello everyone,
today I used the free version of the partition assistant to extend the Windows partition C: with non-allocated space on the hard drive. Because there was a recovery partition located between C: and the non-allocated partition, the first operation was to move the recovery partition to the end of the non-allocated space. Operation two was to extend partition C.
However, afterwards Windows has not been able to boot anymore. I got a blue screen and error code 0xc0000225. Starting windows recovery/repair from a Windows boot medium was not working either.
When booting from USB, I also used the command prompt and the mini-explorer/notepad to check the hard drive and potentially save files. However, while C: exhibits the correct size it was supposed to after the extension, all folders are empty.
I appreciate, if anyone has an advide in that matter. It looks like all the data files are lost, even though the flders are there. I have no idea what went wrong during the process. I would be glad to at least recover the data and do a fresh install afterwards.

"When booting from USB, I also used the command prompt and the mini-explorer/notepad to check the hard drive and potentially save files. However, while C: exhibits the correct size it was supposed to after the extension, all folders are empty."---Could you take a photo to us?
And, did you boot from the WinPE USB of AOMEI Partition Assistnat? If yes, please also take a photo of Partition Assistant so that we check the status of your disk.
In addition, did you move the recovery partition and resize C: drive via Resize/Move Partition feature, and then apply the two operations together?
Unfortunately, you are in data recovery, until your drive is working again. Please use your backup software, such as Backupper (BU) or PA to backup your entire disk, before attempting repairs.
After creating a full disk backup, you could try the classic commands:
Diskpart > lis dis > sel dis # > lis par > lis vol
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd
Bcdboot <Letter>:/Windows

Could you please reply with the answers to:
1) Which motherboard mode Legacy-BIOS, UEFI-CSM, UEFI-nonCSM?
2) What PC brand, year, model #, desktop or laptop?
3) HDD, SSD 2.5", SSD M.2 SATA, SSD M.2 NVMe?
4) Hard Drive partition table MBR or GPT?
5) Aomei product tier Standard, Pro, Other?
6) Version of Windows, 10, 11, Home, Pro, Enterprise?
7) Please post a screenshot of your BSOD error, and Diskpart > lis dis > sel dis # > lis par > lis vol
Thank you.
