MY EXTERNAL HARD DISK RUNS VERY SLOW, IS THERE ANY WAY TO FAST IT UP?
Hi pasigeek,
Your speeds are determined by USB port speed along with external HDD read/write speeds.
Scan the external drive in search for errors
Right-click the drive you want to check, select "Properties"
Select "Tools" tab and from here you can find "Error-checking"
Use this along with "Automatically fix file system errors"
Then defragmenting the external drive
This will boost just slightly but not very noticeable.
Hello Buckitall,
Just as you said, it only makes the hdd a little faster. I'm considering maybe I should replace it with a ssd.
Anyway, thank you!
