Hard drive relys on no computer

edited September 2014 in The Lounge

An Australian boy has just been awarded by inventing a hard drive which doesn't need a computer, more...

  • Interesting.  Several years ago, IBM created a hard drive that would fit into the same physical space as a compact flash card.  The idea never really took off, though.  A few manufacturers created drives, and they got up to about 8 GB in size.  Solid state quickly eclipsed that market though.

  • Is the boy talking about this type of product

or something completely different, that interfaces entirely without a computer and monitor?
