Encryption Key

Hello.  When my disk or system backup is encrypted, where is the private key located?  Is this a separate key file external to the backup or is the key internal to the .adi file.  My concern is if my laptop crashes and i get my backup file from an external site, how will the file know my password is correct without having to look for an actual private key file?

    Hi @jid918, There is no other separate file to store the key,  it's internal to the adi file

    Thank you so much for youru quick response!  Makes perfect sense.  So i assume that if i totally lose my harddrive, I simply go to another laptop or drive or whatever, download the Aoemi software to that new disk and then point to my DISK IMAGE and restore.  Is this correct?  thanks again...
