backups not accessable

I purchased the"professional" version some months ago and was expecting
a  "professional" product but so far it has just been a continual
problem.  For me it is critical that the backup is reliable.  But now I
find that the backups  I had created appear to useless since they cannot
be accessed - I keep getting a "does not exist or cannot be accessed
message" when I try to try to, say, "Check Imge" or "Properties".  And
when I try a new backup I get "Information Code 4101".  The backup is
being made to an external hard drive using Windows 7 and AOMEI 4.0.3

  • Is it a system backup or a file backup?

  • A system backup.  Previous backup files still exist on the external drive

  • Maybe the drive letter has changed. Please click Path on Restore tab to choose the backup image manually.

  • But I don't want to "Restore" - I want to continue making backups.

  • PS: FWIW while the external drive was disconnected and re-attached and that is likely the cause of the current problem, I believe the drive letter after the re-attachment was the same as before - I cannot remember any time when it did not appear as the G: drive

  • Please delete the backup(only task, not images) and click the down arrow to import backup images on external drive.

  • I have deleted the old backup task and created a new one and created a new backup using that.  Is there any way to be assured that the task will continue to find the external disk in the future? Must I check the log files to ensure that the backup has run successfully?  (I do not have any email capability on this laptop.)

  • I think the backup will be fine if the drive letter won't change.

Yes, you can check the log files.
