Intelligent Sector vs Exact Backup

I don't understand the difference here. If i don't use exact backup I'm afraid I'll be missing some important pieces if i have to restore.  Please explain.

    The Exact Backup will backup all sectors, while the Intelligent Sector Backup will only backup used sectors.
