How to update AOMEI Backupper standard

Hello,
Momentarily, I use AOMEI Backupper standard. Version 4.0.3
To update version 4.0.4, it seems that I have to uninstall the previous version.
Question: If I uninstall the previous version, will the backups already made be preserved or lost?

    Backups never get lost. Even the tasks in the home screen won't be gone if you install the new version and let Aomei uninstall the old one. If they are gone anyway, you can easily get them back with the bent arrow button in the Home screen. B.t.w. you can also export tasks there and import them afterwards if you want to be super sure.
