All backup images corrupted / not found

I've backed up disks onto 2 different external 1TB WD Passports (Full and incremental bu's) over two months. Today, I find that ALL backup images are corrupted / not found.


What can cause this - and what's the solution? 

Is the Free AOMEI Software unreliable?
