EFI (UEFI) problem

I try to restore an older backup but the computer doesn't start up because of an EFI problem. I 've tried a system restore and also a disk restore but with both i have problems. Anyone an idea how I can sole this problem?

    The older backup, was that made on another PC which has BIOS/MBR instead of EFI?

    If not, is the disk on which you try to restore partitioned as GPT?

    I think the second remark was the problem but I solved the problem to use another hard disk. Thank you anyway for you remarks

    Glad it's solved. You know it is possible to convert a GPT to MBR style disk.
