bootable USB doesn't recognize external HD

edited January 2017 in AOMEI Products Support

Hello,

When I run a bootable USB (Windows PE or Linux) my external HD I want to use for cloning my computer's HD is not recognized.

During the boot loading, both my USB key and my external HD are listed but when Backupper runs from the USB it shows only the internal HD and not the external one plugged on USB.

For this reason I'm unable to clone my computer's disk.

I have created the bootable USB on another computer. Should I create the bootable USB at the same computer as the one I want to clone?

Thanks.

  • Please check if your external disk is big sector such as 4096 disk? If yes, the software cannot support it. If not, please check if the software can recognize the external disk in the windows.
