That kind of recovery fails anyway, Windows does not repair, unfortunately.
Try to backup the old disk (disk or system backup), and the restore to the new disk, instead of Cloning. Make sure manually that the new disk has no partitions, and that is GPT or MBR the same as the old disk.
I know that System restore of "System backup" of GPT disk works, when then new disk is GPT and is empty. I know when doing it otherwise it cannot not work.
Another possibility is to use bcdboot in the command shell of Windows PE, I already was able to repair such boots when testing. Try googling for instructions.
yet another possibility to try: remove the old, or the new disk from the computer. Because Windows ist not designed to tell UEFI to have two bootable OS, or two bootable disks.

Yet another possiblity to clone from the bootable media, not from the live system?

Hopefully one the several advices helps.
