"Access denied" trying to open document in a backup image

I've created an image of my hard drive and have now opened it with "Explore Image". I need to review some documents from the image and copy some to my new hard drive. No matter what file I try to open (.txt, .doc, .docx, .jpg, .zip.....), I get an "access denied" or "you do not have necessary permission" messages. 


I am a local administrator on the laptop I'm using. I've looked at the owner of the directories in the image and they all show "TrustedInstaller". I have tried to change the owner but I get a message saying "Unable to set new owner on WIN7_4.1.8 (F:) The media is write protected."


I'd appreciate any help in getting to my files.
