Do I really have a backup?

Win 8.1 machine

I  downloaded backupper, formatted a USB drive to remove all previous files; viewed with Windows Explorer to verify no files and then ran backup to USB drive and checkup and shutdown boxes both checked. All seemed to work OK but when I look at the USB drive with Widows Explorer it still looks like no files are there.  This may be OK as files may just not be recognized by Windows.  I made a restore DVD to run a restore and used it to boot and it seems to find the backup.

I went as far as possible without starting a restore.

How can I assure myself that I really have a backup in the USB drive?

  • Run Backupper.

    Select 'Utilities' > 'Explore Image'.

Select the image or browse to the path where the image is located.

A disk letter will be assigned to the image.

Complete all the steps and go to 'My Computer' and locate the virtual drive which has been assigned the letter and explore it.

When finished, run Backupper, Utilities, Explore image and detach the virtual drive that was assigned.
