Backupper: Some folders not saved to/restored from image
Hi all,
I've just come across a problem regarding an image I created using Backupper 3.2. The HDD of my test PC consists of several partitions including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. Aomei Backupper is installed on Windows 7.
A few days ago, I upgraded my Windows 8.1 drive to Windows 10, then made an image of this upgraded partition. After working with it for some time, I restored the image. I would hardly have noticed something had gone wrong if I hadn't checked the Windows 10 rollback feature (the option you can use to revert back to your original operating system) - it simply wasn't available any more.
Ultimately, exploring the image taken, it turned out that 2 things had obviously happened:
1. The $Windows.~BT folder was backupped, but not restored.
2. The $Windows.~WS folder was not even contained in the backup and thus of course couldn't be played back.
Since for the Go back to Windows 8.1 feature, you need both folders (plus the windows.old folder, which was backupped), I could not perform the action.
Anybody else experiencing this behaviour and maybe have a workaround?
