SSD keeps restarting

I am using Partition assistant and performed a disk copy from the current and working HDD to an SSD 

the current hdd has 2 drives c: (has around 48Gb of data) and d: (has 38 Gb of data)

with the os being on drive c:

the ssd is 128Gb and was unallocated

ran the disk copy overnight and woke up to it saying that it was restarting  and that if under over 1 monute

the to restart manually

turned off computer using power button and let it restart it then kept rebooting

i then disconnected the HDD and let it boot from usb (with the ssd attached) and it keeps restarting

and will not start up

if i look at the ssd drive i notice that the c: drive and drives are there but also there is a further 6GB partition

which i ssume is the part that needs to run to finish off the cloning

what is happening/ why will it not boot correctly
