USB 3 Drivers in Safe Mode

Within Windows running AOMEI and selecting System Restore, a message follows that states the PC has to be restarted "in a safe mode".

If the image is stored on an external drive connected by USB 3, the drive is not detected (because the USB 3 drivers don't get loaded - unlike Windows Safe Mode).

The standard method for installing the drivers from the command prompt (c:\system32\rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupInfObjectInstallAction DefaultInstall 128 etc) fails.

The options left are switching the drive to a USB 2 port (verrrry slowww restore) or rebooting with the recovery disk.

I there any way the USB 3 drivers can be loaded from AOMEI's safe mode.

Comments

  • I am afraid you have to make bootable media with the USB 3.0 drivers added to complete the restore. We'll add more drivers into AOMEI's PE mode in the future release.
