Trouble Booting from clone

Windows 10, cloning a 1T Scandisk ssd to a Samsung 980Pro nvme 2T drive. Failed Samsung Migration, so bought your product. I changed my bios boot priority to boot the NVME drive. I can boot fine with the Scandisk drive hooked up, but when I remove it, it wants me to recover saying winload.exe is missing. I’d like to know I’m running Windows from my NVME drive. What should I do… ?

@Marksky, Did you mean that you can boot from the cloned drive when the source disk is connected at the same time?
Could you boot from the cloned drive and then take a screenshot of Windows Disk Management so that we check?

Thank you for letting us know about your migration problems. Could you please take a screenshot of Partition Assistant with both disks attached? I think you mean Sandisk*, not Scandisk. Please attach a screenshot of the error. Turn off PC, disconnect old Sandisk SSD, insert Win10 installation USB > Startup Repair. If that does not work, try:

Cmd >

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

BCDBoot c:\windows (or letter of your win partition)

If that does not work, use LazeSoft USB Win10 for great automatic startup repairs.
