Backupper image files auto overwrite
Thanks for your nice and easy to use product.
I run a full image backup every day using the weekly schedule to a named folder on another disk.
When the backup cycles for a full week it creates a second file with a "1" appended to the backup file name, thus it will eventually fill the target disk.
I would like the option to overwrite the previous week old file rather than keep it.

Welcome to AOMEITECH forum! Thank you very much for your suggestion. We are considering adding a function to handle such a problem in the future. Currently you have to manually detete unecessary backup files.
If you have any other questions or suggestions for us to improve this progarm please do not hesitate to let us know.

To delete old backup-files.
You can use a doscommand i found at http://maxvit.net/sah_remove_backup_files
In the example 3 latest (actual) files are saved and rest of files deleted.
In the formula you only have to change the backupdir and the extension *.bkf
in *. adi. And if you want to save more then 3 files, change 3 in ... (your choice)
I've tested it and it works fine.

Hello Kees,
Thank you so much for your help.
However, for nonprofessional users, please first draw attention to this artical:
http://www.backup-utility.com/features/incremental-differential-backup.html thus you will have a basical knowledge about incremental/differential backup. Due to the difference between incremental backup and differential backup, please make sure that deleting the old backups won't destroy the integrity of your backup chain.
Sincerely
AOMEI
It's been a while!
Is there a solution for this that does no involve additional commands? The automatic backup cleanup works different, as it deletes the old backup file only after the new backup is complete - right?
