Same result with both Backupper 6.5.1 and 7.3.3 and multi-boot (Easy2Boot) or single boot (Rufus). As for the non-booting problem, I suspect it's because that machine has UEFI support in the BIOS, but it's booting in legacy mode. I plan on convert…

Try insomnia from https://dlaa.me/Insomnia/ While active, it blocks sleep, but allows blanking the display.

Try watching the task manager as Backupper is loading. Maybe a scan by Windows Defender or other antivirus is being triggered.

I've seen drivers that don't work if added to the image with PE Builder, but do work if injected later using DISM. I don't know why some drivers fail, but having just one driver needing DISM, I find it simpler to use DISM for all driver additions. …

Try turning off the power supply switch or pulling the plug briefly; machines are not truly off if they have power. Power-off reset may allow the machine to post. The other symptoms could indicate the boot drive or other hardware has failed.
Maybe the NAS name isn't recognized - try using a numeric ip address.
PE Builder is good, but as far as I know, you have to add drivers one at a time. I make a minimal ISO with PE Builder, then inject drivers with a powershell script. An…In device manager, select properties from the context menu for the disk (or other device). On the details tab, you can select various properties. Hardware ids or compatible ids show text strings you can match against the contents of .inf files. …My experience is that an old BIOS is likely to boot at USB 1 speed (if it supports USB boot at all). I'm not sure, but is sometimes seems like using a USB 3 disk on a USB 2 system might also trigger USB 1 speed. None of this is AOMEI's fault. Boot…There's a 64-bit version in C:\Program Files (x86)\AOMEI\AOMEI Backupper\6.9.2\Winpe64\, and this seems to be used for 64-bit bootable media (because 64-bit WinPE doesn't like 32-bit programs). If you run it in regular Windows, it says it's an expi…I had a similar problem with adding network drivers not working. I was able to add drivers to the image using powershell commands. Search here for "inject" for a posting by me back in October for details.
If drvload.exe is able to load …Thanks, that's what seemed to happen. I asked because, due to covid-19, I am not allowed to go into the office except for emergencies (crashed servers for example). So I have work-owned equipment at home covered by our license and personal equipmen…After registry cleanup and reinstall, I no longer see the trial expired error when starting Backupper with no network. As part of the cleanup, I deleted an old 5.8 directory that had only a few files, maybe that contributed to the problem? I got t…Recent versions of Windows 10 have an mbr2gpt.exe on the install media and in system32. See Microsoft docs at https://d…I just tried again. With network active, BU says I'm running Technician Plus as expected. Restarting BU with no network, it says Server Trial and expired. USB boot keys do not seem to expire.
I don't think I made it clear. When I reconnected the network and restarted Backupper, it said it was registered properly. I assume that means it's "phoning home" to verify the license. That doesn't really bother me, but I worry what would happen if…I pulled the cable on the physical computer. Backupper and VirtualBox were running on the same machine for these tests. (VirtualBox is irrelevant for the expired demo message.)
A comment that is independent of how you do the backups: The data rate you're getting suggests USB 2 speed. USB 3 ought to be at least 4x faster. Or maybe you're spending time compressing movie files that probably don't shrink significantly.
@admin Even after stopping the service, I was not able to overwrite amwrtdrv.sys. But I was able to rename it and copy in the replacement. I was able to use dism to inject NIC drivers into a boot image for a Dell precision when PEBuilder failed. Here's an extract from some documentation I wrote:
Drivers need to be “injected” into \Sources\boot.wim. That file will be around…What's the compatibility with various editions of Windows server?
I looked at two machines where I have this installed. On one, hiderun.exe was missing so I reinstalled pebuilder to restore it. I updated signatures and scanned the file with Windows Defender on both machines and got no complaints. The fact that …Does clone copy volume shadows? Those can take many GB.
Regarding IVssWriterCallback errors and com security settings, we did have to add network service; it wasn't there by default. I don't understand why, but giving rights here did help.
I haven't found any option other than making imgptn files with Easy2Boot. I hit the same problem with a Dell Precision 3431, so it's not just my personal laptop. Small correction to previous post: an ISO made by PE Builder can be converted, it's o…The most recent abservice.exe above seems to fix the slow shutdown problem (and no more 7043 errors in the event log). Thanks.
I replaced ABService.exe, restarted the service and rebooted. I still see the event log message "The AOMEI Backupper Scheduler Service service did not shut down properly after receiving a preshutdown control." and shutdown takes longer than usual. …There's been some discussion of this buried in another thread. I think you'll find that Backupper re-enables and starts the service in question. You can manually stop the service just before reboot or shutdown to save a few seconds. I'm seeing th…
