I tried the clone this morning before seeing your post above. I cloned the drive internally connected to 1 of the other ata / sata channels. The clone worked and backupper reported success with no errors.

Well ive carried out the following tasks:
Backup all data manually to a working disk.
Create a windows repair cd disc.
Create a windows system image on a working disk.

I have just cloned my laptop and it worked, perfectly.
When I clone my win 7 pro desktop, i get post message like "a device is missing".
The cloned drive is showing in bios and is the first boot device.
