I did perform a disk restore as stated.
Removed the drive letter so all is well and clear.
Have never needed to restore for many years so was a little confused as to the appearence of 'F' after the restore!

The F drive has been removed. It is an independant HD in a USB caddy.
I performed a Disk Restore.
My back up regime is that I do Disk backups on each of the two internal PC harddrives....C (Programmes) and D (Storage)

After a PC restart 'F' is now static as the destination drive on each operation.

Yes.
I was able to change the destination to 'F' from your instructions but it defaults to 'D' when I reopen the programme. -
Correct.
Uninstalled 5.9 yesterday....including a good registry clear out.
Reinstalled now and adding two screenshots.
1. Clone.
2. Disk Back up.......The Network option disappears when I click my image selector. in Aomei 5.9 update problem. Comment by EJB986 August 2020 -

I normally do a 'disc image' back up which I assumed was the correct action to enable me to restore a disc?

It's completely logical as you suggest.
Apart from age I can't understand why I was so wrong in my thoughts!
I have 3 PCs so will start backing up again in earnest!

Go back to bleeping computer and sort out 'Advance System Care' before anything else.
OR......At least Google it and ensure it is a legitimate programme.
