Regarding to software encryption I've currently only perfomed tests with non system partitions, encrypted with DiskCryptor. While Windows Backup or Veeam Endpoint Backup have no problems to mount or access files within the backup AB fails.

Thanks for this guide. But before I start a procedure like this I would stop using AB and perform my backups with windows build in instead - which also has no problems with other 3rd party encryption solutions. Not as comfortable as AB but it doe…

In addition to my first suggestions I also want to mention that AB should be able to handle partitions encrypted by the most common encryption software. (e.g. truecrypt, diskcryptor).
As we know AB can backup those but can't read them anym…

Maybe it depends on the field of use but here are my top 4 improvement whishes from a smb point of view:
1. A backup scheme that continuously keeps an amount of n backups / n days of backups! That should be realized very easy f…

I've already mentioned this a while ago in this forum. That's AOMEI logic but I'm surprised that it seems that we're are the only ones who critizice thi…

I'd this issue while updating from 1.6 to 2x and 2.1 to 2.2 and so on at some machines. I was surprised that I hadn't this issue while updating to 2.5 on our testing PC. So I thought they fixed it. It seems that I was lucky and have to expect it …

I hope that the next version will not only add new features but also fix existing bugs and the requested improvements apart from the PXE one.

Thanks for clarification that option 1 works as AOMEI intended. I'll guess I have to manage the backups through custom scripts.

Any further statement from you to this "killer" lack? It was tested with 2.0.2 but the changelogs do not mention any fixes on more current versions.

As I mentioned option 1 definitely didn't work as described. Option 2... well how is an obsolete backup defined in AOMEI Backupper?

I agree that before/after jobs would be a huge improvement.

Although I've currently tested only restores from full and differential backups I can not belive that you have to restore each incremental backup one by one. Just chose the restore point you want and AOMEI Backupper will include all necessary pre…

I'm still awaiting an answer.

Just to be sure: wiped means that there're no partion information left on the new device?

Hi admin,
thanks for your reply. The perfomance of the source or target devices could only be a reason if a recovery produces heavily random I/Os on both devices and I can't belive that.
"The differen…

In addition to the above tests I started a few further ones to compare different settings. Compression doesn't seem to have a huge impact of the recover time. A recovery from a full backup is nearly twice as fast as a differential but with ~40MB/…

I guess that's a normal behaviour of your SMTP Provider. It's a common SPAM protection of email providers to forbid the use of a sender address which isn't known by the SMTP Server - usually your email address or aliases. Some providers allow to …
