Problem with backup image restore

Hello All,

I am trying to restore an image of my SSD took earlier today.

I have the image stored on a different HDD. When I try to restore the image i get the following error:

"Restore is initializing...

Checking volumes...

Disk restoring...

Information Code:214

Not
enough reserve space. Please make big enough available space for target
partition. If you have checked the "Align partition to optimize for
SSD" option, uncheck it please and try again because this option will
adjust partition accordingly and may cause this error."

Any ideas? How can it be that the space is not enoupgh when its the same disk?

Thank you

  • Anyone?

  • Iceman: I just did a restore of my Win 7 boot drive and it worked perfectly.  Your issue made me wonder whether Backupper used some sort of swap space on the source drive, i.e. where the image was located, and that drive is too full.  The other question that I had was whether you are using Win 8 since it seems a number of the people have problems are using that OS.  Is the SSD your boot drive?  If so are you doing a system restore or just a re-image?  Re-imaging the boot drive might have the program thiniking that it is supposed to pile the new image onto the drive but keep the boot data there.  There is a small button at the bottom left of the restore page that you need to tick to do a system restore.

These were just some thoughts that I had and I do not know if they will assist.

    Good luck.

  • Hello Homer,

    Thanks for the reply.

Actually I am using windows 8.1. So I guess I will need to wait for a new release of the software that will fix any bugs.

In addition to my first post, the SSD is completly empty at the moment (I can see it as unallocated space in the system), and no the SSD is not my boot drive. I was just testing the software to see the capabilities before actually using it on something important :), and I came accross this bug.

Thank you in advance for all your time and help.

    Regards

    Ice

  • IceAge,

Please upload the log folder, you can find it in the installation directory of Backupper. It is a bug. I will forward it to the development team.

  • Hello,

Please find attached the uploaded log folder.

Let me know if you need any additional information.

  • I suggest you try Backupper 2.2 version. Bakupper 2.2 Pro  Backupper 2.2 Std

  • mysery126,

apparently the files you link here contain a virus.

People be aware and do not download any of the two.

    Thanks.

  • IceAge , If you have copy of Backupper 2.2, just forget the links.

PS: I wonder why you say it contains a virus since i just download it.

  • Hello mysery126,

Windows security says that the files contain the virus salty

  • Hello mysery126,

The pro version is actually clean, but unfortunatly its not working :(

  • What do you mean it's not working? Whether did Backupper 2.2 fail to restore or you not have a licence code for pro version. I suggest you format the SSD and try to restore it again with Backupper 2.8 if you can not get Backupper 2.2.

  • Hello and sorry for the late reply,

I am currently on my honeymoon.

I have tried both Backupper 2.8 and 2.2 pro but still I have the error mentioned before.

I have formated the disk but still no luck.

I get the error that my disk is smaller than the image.

    Thank you.

  • Hello guys,

Do we have any update on the bug?

    Thank you.

  • I have tried restoring with version 3, but the issue still remains.

    Do we have an ETA?

  • had same issue.. only solution was to resize the source drive to smaller size as the destination drive and recover it that way.

  • pgajdek, can you please give me some more details please on how you have done this?

  • I know this is an old post and I'm using 4.0.2

My situation is slightly different. I'm getting the exact same error. My destination is 953 GB and my system restore image is 582 GB.

I thought it might be because I had unallocated space on the destination drive so I bought AOMEI partition software but still no luck.

I trusted this software and now I'm screwed
