Lower the backup priority / usage

Hello,

These are my computer stats:

Windows 7 64 bit

8 GB ram

I5-3570K CPU @ 3.40 GHz with 4 cores

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM

Aomei Professional Edition 2.0.1

I'm
using the latest Aomei backup software. You added pretty much all the
features I suggested. I'm loving all the features you have.

There's
just one issue I have left with it. When I start backing up my
software, my operating system gets really slow. I tried lowering the CPU
prority of the backup. I tried changing the compression level of the
backup. Both methods did not change the slowness of my computer.

Now
normally I would run backup programs while I'm using the computer.
However, with AOMEI backupper I cannot backup at the same time as
browsing the Internet or using Windows explorer. As I would like to do
that, I'd appreciate it if you could fix that.

I don't have this problem on other backup softwares like Windows backup or Macrium Reflect, even with high priority with it on.

I think the problem is that it uses up the disk so much that I cannot use windows explorer without a large delay.

I
suggest another way to lower the effects of backup and make it slower.
The existing CPU priority option doesn't make my computer faster like I
said. I myself wouldn't mind a slower backup as long as I can browse
while backing up.

Thanks,

DP

  • Technotron,

Where are you imaging to, an external drive or to a NAS etc?

I'm wondering if maybe either a USB or NAS drive has a driver problem with Backupper, or maybe there is another program that causes problems with AOMEI products. I'm thinking free A/V and Firewall software.  I know these can cause problems with other imaging software.
