Are you trying to restore the image file to the destination on which the original file was, when you encountered the problem? If it is so, to avoid the problem, you can select "Intelligent Backup" instead of "Sector by Sector Backup" next time when you make a backup. "Intelligent Backup" only backs up the used part of the partition while "Sector by Sector Backup" backs up the whole partition. Thus, when you restore with the image file created by "Intelligent Backup", the destination can be smaller than the original partition. However, if you recover with the image file created by "Sector by Sector Backup", the destination should be no smaller than the original partition. In this situation, you'd better make sure that the destination is bigger than the original partition since you may add some incremental backup image files into the initial (full) image file and you forget it.

Any update on this bug? I am using AOEMEI Backupper Server 2.0.2 - and this error basically makes the software useless.  Unable to do a system restore after making a Intelligent sector system backup

  • Same Problem with me, few days ago....

    I had partion "C" 30GB in NTFS.

I made system backup of C Partition, which was in 12GB in size.Remaining 18gb was free/ empty, No Files.

After few days , i deleted all partition and make all partition.

I want to restore system image,

but AOMEI Backupper gives error, that, destination partition is small (1mb less from 30gb) , however my system image is 12gb (not compressed image).

  • Hallo All,

I have the same problem and I am really desperate...changed SAMSUNG SSD 250GB in my DELL and it seems the new SSD 250GB is little bit different. Can not restore my system with my backup.

Installed Version 2.0.2 but also this does not help. It seems that 5GB are missing, although I use only 150GB and I used intelligent sector backup.

I made a SYSTEM backup, as it worked with normal HDD on another laptop, but with SSD it seems to be useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Werner

  • ...and I made a new WIN7 installation...made a backup and then I tried to restore....

No hardware change and I get the same error.....!!!!!!

PARTITION IS TOO SMALL and 0.17GB are misssing.

    Please fix NOW.
