Differential Failed because of "bad sector"

I did a complete backup for the first time last month. Today I wanted to

do a differential backup because of different software installed and

uninstalled software gone.

One thing I did was a deep defragment on both of my paritions, and

my backup was on my F: drive.

What does "bad  sector" mean & can I fix it?

Thank you, Mary

  • Hello Mary,

Sorry for the late reply. Bad sector means that your disk has some physical damage, this is hardly to fix. The better way is to avoid using the bad sectors by hiding the partition where the bad sector located in.But this is not the end of the problem, you'd better buy a new HD instead.
