WinPE AHCI Drivers, Full Backup Recreation Interval, Delta Backup, Deleting Old Backups

Hello,

This is an interesting backup program.  There are many options on the market, including big competitors Macrium and EASEUS.  This program could differentiate itself in many ways.  Here are some questions:

1.  Do the bootable discs include storage controller drivers?  Will they recognize HDDs in all interfaces?

2.  Do plans exist for an option to add a full backup interval for incremental and differential?

3.  Do plans exist for Delta backup?

4.  Does the program delete old backups?  Will the backup drive fill up?

This program has potential.  Please keep up the good work.

Thank you,

Ryan

    Hello Ryan,

Thank you very much for your praise. As for your queries:

    1.  Do the bootable discs include storage controller drivers?  Will they recognize HDDs in all interfaces?

It includes basic drivers which was generated based on the computer. If it
lacks drivers, like the driver for wireless connection storage devices,
you can add the drive to the bootable CD by add driver function.

    2.  Do plans exist for an option to add a full backup interval for incremental and differential?

We will sincerely consider this suggestion. In the future, maybe we will
provide another efficient way to ensure you data safety.

    3.  Do plans exist for Delta backup?

Do you mean "as differential backup, a backup that only contains the files that have
changed since the most recent backup (either full or incremental). The
advantage of this is quicker backup times, as only changed files need to
    be saved."

    4.  Does the program delete old backups?  Will the backup drive fill up?

We are considering optimizing the function to manage backups. We believe
it will be more convenient to manage incremental and differential backup
    in the future.

Thank you for all the questions you
proposed, they are very important for us to improve our program. If you
have any further questions please do not hestate to let us know.

  • To delete old backup-files.

You can use a doscommand  i found at http://maxvit.net/sah_remove_backup_files

In the example 3 latest (actual) files are saved and  rest of files deleted.

In the formula you only have to change the backupdir and the extension *.bkf

in *. adi. And if you want to save more then 3 files, change 3 in ... (your choice)

I've tested it and it works fine.
