Possible to interrupt "Analyzing Volume" in PreOS mode?

I am running Partition Assistant to resize my partitions. I have performed the similar function on other similar hardware with no problems. Now it is taking over 3 hours saying "Analyzing Volume". It does indicate progress (now about 18%) but it is very slow. Can I safely cancel and restart the system?

  • Hello scottoakes,

Yes, it is safe to cancel the progress and restart the system, when it is showing "Analyzing volume" or "synchronizing system". As for this problem, it may because of there are too many fragments, so after you abort the progress, you'd better defrag your partitions.
