Deleted and merged unused recovery partition but no more space on disk

Hi

So I used AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.13.1 to delete an old recovery partition and merge it with my system disk partition c:. All operations completed successfully according to the software. But the size of drive c: has not increased and there is no unallocated space on the disk either.

a) Why?
b) How do I fix this and recover the "lost" space on the disk?

    @JW313, Could you take a screenshot of Partition Assistant or Windows Disk Management so that we check?

    Sorry. I just realized that I made a mistake. Everything executed just fine. I was not missing 500GB but 500MB. In effect I didn't notice the change in size. Funny but true.
