USB Backupper does not restore GUID

I have spent hours, over days messing around with backup and restore, to realise in the end the reason why it was not working is because the backupper app does not keep the original GUID of the partition being restored.

1. The W10 on that partition no longer boots
2. Other W10 installs which had that drive hidden now see it as a new drive.

How to restore the old GUID using the live PE boot USB?

  • @Mohasi, Thanks for your feedback. AOMEI Backupper indeed creates the new GUID. But, it will fix the boot of the system during restore. Maybe the fix operation failed, so the restored system can't boot.
