Aomei Backupper Pro v 5.0 - user interface problem

Quite often I can't open the menu or tools menu, clicking on the items does nothing. Quitting and restarting the program doesn't help. A reboot usually fixes it, but only temporarily, as after one or two accesses to menu or tools the problem reappears.
The left pane menus (home/backup/restore/clone) work fine

  • Did you install any anti-virus software?Like Norton?

    It seems to work fine now:
    Stop Kaspersky from monitoring the programme.
    In Kaspersky Total Security under Settings/Protection/Application Control/Manage Applications
    Search "AOMEI"
    Right click "AOMEI Backupper" go to "Details and rules"
    I made Backupper.exe an exclusion (check some boxes in the "Exclusion" tab)

    Now all seems OK, need to check over a few days
  • Oh dear, its doing it again.  Obviously the above is not a permanent fix
  • What if you turn off Kaspersky completely?
  • Most antivirus programs will revert user settings, kaspersky, mcafee and bitdefender as a few I have used and had 
    this very kind of issue.
    Bullguard was a little better at keeping user settings; I now use windows defender and the only real issue I can see with it is it may ask for program permissions to access the internet.
