Restoring a System Backup on an unpartitioned disk

I have installed Windows 10 on a 1TB SSD. I don't particularly want to partition it.
But this means my data (My Documents, My Music, My Videos, etc) will be on the same partition as the operating system.

Without a partition, is it possible to backup only the operating system (and installed programs)?
And then repair just the operating system/programs using a 'system backup' image, without affecting the user data?

Or do I need to partition the disk, and keep all my data on a separate partition?

Thanks.

  • If you don't want to partition it keep your data, etc on another drive. Otherwise, no you can't just backup the OS and not the data on the same partition.
  • Thanks for the confirmation.
